The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin's Post Parade Party takes place on Saturday, March 11, 2017. It is the largest family day event of the St Patrick's season. For over forty years, the Shamrock Club has presented Milwaukee with the best in Irish entertainment, geared towards families. We have four stages, including a children's stage.

Shamrock Club's 51st Annual Post Parade Party

March 11, ICHC 1 to 6 PM

The Post Parade Party takes place on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, 2133 West Wisconsin, from 1 PM until 6 pm. The party is a part of the Shamrock Club's events on March 11, including the Downtown Saint Patricks Parade Milwaukee.

The Cost is $5 per person over 12, or $15 for an entire family.

We will be selling food and beverages, as well.


Entertainment
Our entertainment is diverse, from ballad singers to rockers, pub bands to traditional Irish. It is the largest Parade Day party under one roof. It is also the only family event in the Milwaukee area.

Entertainers:

Shamrock Club Color Guard Pipes and Drums - The Shamrock Club's Color Guard has marched around the world, including in Dublin's Millenium Parade in 1989; San Antonio; Savannah's St Patrick Day Parade; New Orleans; and in much of Wisconsin.

Blarney is the granddaddy of all Irish bands in Milwaukee, having been around since 1975. They made their debut at the March, 1975 Shamrock Club meeting, and have been singing every March since then. Kevin Stapleton and Dennis Murphy continue their history of entertaining Shamrock Club audiences.



The Caledonian Scottish Dancers
are the only group to have performed at every one of the Post Parade Parties at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. They are one of the Midwest's best and best known Scottish dance schools and companies.

Kathleen Mohr is best known as Eileen O'Rourke, and is a highly regarded children's entertainer.

HISTORY OF THE POST PARADE PARTY

The Post Parade Party has been a part of the Shamrock Club almost since the inception of the parade. It has been held at locations across the Milwaukee Metro area. For a few years, it was held at the old Kunzelman Esser's lofts. Other locations included Wauwatosa Civic Center, Pius XII grade school, and St Vincent Palloti's on Bluemound road. It has been located at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center since 1995.

The Post Parade Party has always strove to be a family event. We have always featured Irish dance schools, starting with our own, the Shamrock Club Dancers. When the Club gave up the dance school in 1982, first Mary-Eileen Geary took it over, but then the school was split into two, and ultimately ended up as the Trinity Irish Dancers, and the Cashel dancers. For many years, the two schools would alternate as to who danced at the party,

We have always featured our local musicians, as they are the folks who help to keep Irish life alive throughout the year. Non-local performers have Fitz and the Celts, (Chicago); Frances Quinn, (Belfast, NI); Different Drums of Ireland (NI); David Griffin, (Waterford, IRL); ; Clumsy Lovers, (Vancouver, BC); Tartan Army (Windsor, ON); and the Bogside Zukes, (Peoria, IL)
