Shamrock Club's 52nd Annual Post Parade Party
March 10, ICHC 1 to 6 PM
The Post Parade Party takes place on Saturday, March 10, 2018,
at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, 2133 West Wisconsin, from 1 PM until 6 pm. The party
is a part of the Shamrock Club's events on March 10, including the Downtown Milwaukee Saint Patrick's Parade .
The Cost is $5 per person over 12, or $15 for an entire family.
We will be selling food and beverages, as well.
Our entertainment is diverse, from ballad singers to rockers, pub bands to traditional Irish. It is the largest Parade Day party under one roof. It is also the only family event in the Milwaukee area.
The Shamrock Club Color Guard Pipes and Drums open the Hallamor entertainment at 2 pm. The Shamrock Club's Color Guard has marched around the world, including in Dublin's Millenium Parade in 1989; San Antonio; Savannah's St Patrick Day Parade; New Orleans; and in much of Wisconsin.
New this year is the Eric Look Band, a Milwaukee favorite. They will open up the PPP at 1 PM in the Shamrock Club Parlour.
Making their debut is the Heathfire Band. The Milwaukee band has been performing across the US, and has only been in business for about five years.
Others returning to the PPP are Evan and Tom Leahy, the father and son veterans of the Milwaukee Irish music scene for over three decades. (Evan started as a pre-teen.) And Dublin native Barry Dodd will bring his songs that he originally learned in the Liberties area of that fair city.
Fan favorites Blackthorn Folly is back again. They mix trad and song into a delightful stew.
One of the hardest working bands in the Midwest, Frogwater, returns for an afternoon of Irish, Scottish, Appalachian and Old-Timey music, songs, and jokes.
And again this year, Tis closes out the entertainment. Although they are trad, if anyone can play hard trad, they do.
We will have four dance groups, including the The Caledonian Scottish Dancers, the only group to perform at every Post Parade Party in the 23 years at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center.
Returning are the dancers of the Beglan Academy, which is led by Riverdance veterans Sean and Jillian Beglan.
Also coming back in 2018 are the Trinity Irish Dance Academy , which at one time were the Shamrock Club Dancers.
Making their PPP debut is the Milwaukee Irish Dance Company . However, this adult company is made up of many Milwaukee Irish dance schools alumni, and are veterans of feis and oireachtas competitions.
Kathleen Mohr is best known as Eileen O'Rourke, and is a highly regarded children's entertainer. She will be entertaining in our Dedicated Children's area, starting at 3 pm.
